Steps for changing medication after appendicitis surgery

The incision should be changed regularly after appendicitis surgery. Before changing the dressing, one should check whether there is any exudation or bloody exudate from the incision dressing, and after uncovering the dressing one should specifically observe the condition of the incision, including whether there is redness, swelling and exudate from the incision. Routine disinfection with iodophor should be performed within 5 cm of the incision, with gradual and repeated disinfection. After deiodination with alcohol without obvious exudate, the new dressing can be re-covered with at least four layers of gauze and fixed with adhesive tape or applied dressing, which can effectively prevent incisional infection and facilitate postoperative recovery of the incision. For changing the incision dressing contaminants should be sent to the prescribed place for disposal.
