What pre-operative interventions are required for weight loss surgery for super obese people

  Super obese people with BMI over 40 must undergo certain preoperative interventions before weight loss surgery. If there is severe snoring, daily oxygen intake and wearing a ventilator to sleep at night are also required.  In addition, preoperative multidisciplinary consultation is also an important means to ensure the smooth operation. Experts from multiple disciplines will conduct a comprehensive review and consultation on the physical condition of the super obese patient and discuss the most suitable operation plan for the patient.  At present, many mature bariatric centers in China have already formed a complete preoperative intervention system, which will help greatly improve the long-term efficacy of metabolic surgery and benefit super obese patients to the greatest extent.
