Insomnia is a very common condition. It is generally divided into two types: organic and psychogenic insomnia. Psychogenic insomnia is generally related to the patient’s mood and emotion. Therefore, regulating the patient’s mood and emotion is a way to treat insomnia. In my clinical practice, I use a self-hypnosis method for patients with psychogenic insomnia. The clinical observation has a very good effect. It is introduced as follows: Xue Guangsheng, Acupuncture Department, Anyang City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine The patient lies flat before going to bed, does 20-40 abdominal breaths with eyes closed, and relaxes the muscles from the head to the feet. In the second step, continue to do abdominal breathing. When exhaling, silently say, “I am relaxed”. And gradually relax the muscles of the whole body from the head. Do 20 in a row, step 3. Meditate on “I will sleep well today”, or “I will sleep well today” while breathing and relaxing. Do 25 in a row. Step 4. Continue to breathe deeply and gradually return to normal breathing.
