There are about three major categories of drugs for the treatment of gallbladder stones: 1) treatment of inflammation caused by gallbladder stones, such as anti-inflammatory and cholagogic tablets; 2) litholytic drugs, such as ursodeoxycholic acid and other bile acids; 3) lithotripsy drugs, such as traditional Chinese medicine. Lithotripsy drugs generally take longer to treat, have more side effects, and the effect of lithotripsy is not very satisfactory; lithotripsy drugs are generally not recommended because smaller stones may cause bile duct obstruction, cholangitis or biliary pancreatitis in the process of lithotripsy; to treat gallbladder stones, if there is inflammation, anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to temporarily relieve the symptoms. For patients with recurrent gallbladder stones, timely surgery is recommended.
