How long does menopause last without contraception

In general, a woman’s ovaries will not ovulate again for about a year after menopause, after which she can stop using birth control. Although the ovaries’ ability to secrete hormones has decreased within one year after menopause and women will not have periods again, they still have the possibility of ovulating occasionally. Therefore, during the year after menopause, it is still necessary to use contraception when having intercourse to avoid unwanted pregnancy. One year after menopause, the ovaries are no longer able to ovulate, so intercourse after that will not lead to pregnancy, and contraception is no longer necessary. During the perimenopausal period, women need to pay attention to dietary regimen and eat hormone-rich foods to help take care of their skin; they need to maintain a happy mood and avoid depression and boredom to help their health. In addition, women need to clarify whether menopause is really menopausal or there is amenorrhea, and they can visit the gynecologist for a clear diagnosis.
