Which gynecological tumors are suitable for surgical treatment

  1. Benign tumors: In principle, all benign gynecological tumors should be operated in time once they are diagnosed (except uterine fibroids), and almost all of them can be operated to obtain good results and patients can recover quickly. For example, in the case of benign ovarian tumor – teratoma, only the tumor can be peeled out and the affected ovary can be preserved during surgery, so that the patient can have the tumor removed and still keep the function of the two ovaries. In addition, for uterine fibroids with surgical indications, the fibroids should be removed as much as possible to preserve their reproductive function. 2. Malignant tumors: In principle, surgery is necessary for vulvar cancer, ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer, while cervical cancer and vaginal cancer need to be decided according to their clinical stage, whether they invade surrounding organs and whether there are distant metastases.
