Anal stenosis is a congenital defect, or an acquired condition caused by inflammation, injury or tumour that reduces the diameter and narrows the lumen of the anus and anal canal. Patients tend to have difficulty defecating, bleeding from defecation, anal pain, anal discharge and abdominal distension.
