Firstly, when anal stenosis is suspected the doctor will perform an anal visualisation, rectal palpation and other relevant investigations to initially determine the presence and extent of stenosis, and then further imaging tests such as anoscopy or rigid rectoscopy, ultrasound, CT and blood tests as necessary to find the cause of the stenosis.
