Which is the best cataract eye drops

Cataract eye drops currently have many classifications and have different effects on each patient because of different mechanisms. The chemically synthesized anti-cataract drugs that are widely used in clinical practice are quinone inhibitors. Cataract eye drops have the effect of slowing down the development of cataract in part of the initial stage. Although there are still many kinds of anti-cataract drugs widely used in clinical practice all over the world, the efficacy is not very precise and the therapeutic effect is irreversible, and there is no drug to cure cataract at present. Cataract eye drops are divided into: 1. quinone inhibitors; 2. anti-free radical drugs; 3. proteolytic enzyme activators, which have the effect of preventing oxidative degeneration of the lens, clouding and decomposition and absorption of cloudy degenerate proteins. 4. glutathione antioxidants, which reduce oxidative damage to the lens and prevent clouding of the lens; 5. eye medications containing iodine preparations; 6. herbal eye drops for cataracts. At present, there is little research on the comparison of the effect of drugs in treating cataracts, so it is not easy to say which drug has the best effect. It is suggested that when using drug eye drops, attention should be paid to: one or two drugs with different action principles can be used at the same time, more than two are unnecessary; if the drops do not work for 3-6 months, stop using them; when combined with dry eyes and various inflammatory diseases in the eyes, use with caution or stop using them. In summary, cataract eye drops are classified into many categories and various drugs have different treatment mechanisms. The more widely used chemical synthetic anti-cataract drugs are quinone inhibitors, but surgery for cataract is the only internationally recognized effective treatment method.
