How to treat early cataracts

Cataracts are the first blindness-causing eye disease in China. Once cataracts are suffered, the condition will gradually worsen with time, and the effect of cataracts on vision will gradually increase after the initial stage, expansion stage, mature stage and over-ripe stage. However, patients with early stage cataracts are mostly asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, so they can be left untreated and can be assisted with medication. Certain eye drops such as quinone inhibitors, aldose reductase inhibitors, vitamin and energy combinations, and natural extracts can slow down the development of some early cataracts. However, there are no specific drugs for cataract treatment, and they can only slow down the progression of the disease to a certain extent, and patients still need regular review. As the cataract develops, the condition gradually worsens and the impact on vision becomes more and more serious, and surgery is eventually required. Surgical treatment may be an option if certain occupations have strict vision requirements. Some patients may have a greater impact on vision if the initial onset of clouding is in the center of the lens; certain types of cataracts develop more rapidly and require early surgery. As mentioned above, cataracts do not require treatment in the early stages and can be slowed down with the use of eye drops. However, surgery is needed to cure cataracts at the root, and surgery is the only effective treatment for cataracts at present.
