How do you take a sample for a sperm test? How much do you need?

A semen test can be done by retaining semen through clean masturbation, and more than 1.5 ml of semen is needed for a routine semen test. Men need to abstain from masturbation for 3-7 days before having a semen test, and they should not masturbate or have intercourse for 3-7 days. On the day of semen retention, a sterile container needs to be collected from the nurse’s desk and semen is retained by clean masturbation in a quiet bathroom. If the masturbation method is difficult, a special condom can be used for semen collection. Ordinary condoms are not usually used for semen retention because ordinary latex condoms can interfere with sperm survival, resulting in decreased sperm survival. After the semen specimen is collected, the temperature is kept at 20°C-37°C. Too high or too low a temperature will affect sperm viability, and the semen specimen should be sent for examination as soon as possible within one hour after collection. Through semen examination, it can find out whether the sperm deformity rate, sperm density, sperm motility, sperm liquefaction time and sperm pH are normal.
