How soon can you have intercourse after childbirth

Intercourse can only be considered when the woman’s body has recovered well or when the postpartum review indicates that the woman’s uterus has recovered well. Generally, after 42 days after the end of the puerperium, women who have given birth by caesarean section are recommended to have intercourse more than 2 months after giving birth. The woman’s uterus, vagina and cervix have a process to recover after giving birth, and generally the entire puerperium period is gradually regained 42 days after delivery. At the end of the puerperium period, if the woman’s body recovers well and the malodex is completely clean, she can consider having intercourse. However, the mother herself cannot recognize whether she has fully recovered or not, so it is recommended to go to the hospital for a review after 42 days after delivery and follow the doctor’s instructions to decide whether or not it is possible to have intercourse. Usually, for women with normal delivery, they can have intercourse 42 days after delivery when the dew is clean, the perineal wound is well healed and the uterus is back to normal. For women who had a cesarean section, it is recommended to have intercourse more than 2 months after the cesarean section. In addition, postpartum women should also pay attention to good contraceptive measures, such as condoms, when having intercourse. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to hygiene to prevent infection.
