Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostatic hypertrophy, is the most common condition in men over 45 years of age, with clinical manifestations of frequent urination, urinary urgency, increased nocturia, dysuria, urinary incontinence and other symptoms, and severe urinary retention or even uremia, which is very painful for patients. The incidence rate increases with age, about 50% of men over 60 years old suffer from prostatic hyperplasia, and 83% to 100% of men over 80 years old suffer from the disease. With the continuous development of the national economic level and the improvement of medical and health conditions, the aging trend of China’s social population is accelerating, and thus the number of men suffering from prostatic hyperplasia is also rising rapidly, the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia will probably become a social problem that will plague the development of China’s urology clinical work as well as medical and health care undertakings. About 50% of patients with prostate enlargement need treatment. Treatment methods include wait-and-see, medication, open surgery and minimally invasive treatment.
