General knowledge of hypospadias

1.What is hypospadias The ectopic opening of the urethra on the ventral side of the penis is called hypospadias. 2.What are the characteristics of congenital hypospadias (1) Abnormal urethral opening. (2) Normal dorsal foreskin of the penis and lack of ventral foreskin. (3) Deformity of the penis flexion to the ventral side. (4) Hypoplasia of the urethral corpus cavernosum extending from the penile tether to the abnormal urethral opening, forming a thick fiber. (5) Abnormal urination, mainly manifested as a thin urine line, urine flowing downward without projection, and wetting of clothes and pants during urination. The penis is obviously bent downward when erect. 3, the choice of the timing of surgery for hypospadias If the patient has congenital deformity of the genitalia, although the function is not affected in any way after successful surgery, but people do not understand this, they will think that if you have congenital deformity of the genitalia, marriage will definitely have an impact, which will reduce the chances of marriage for children with hypospadias. For this reason patients should have the surgery done before entering nursery or kindergarten. Most sexual dysfunctions in male adults are caused by their own psychological factors. If a child with hypospadias completes the treatment after having a memory of it, in adulthood, if sexual dysfunction is caused by other factors, the patient may also associate it with congenital malformation of his genitals, which can create a psychological barrier that is difficult to eliminate. For this reason, hypospadias should be operated before the child has a memory of it, and after the operation the parents should never mention in front of the child that he had a hypospadias again. If the penis is too small, it is relatively more difficult to operate, so the penis of the child should be developed to about 1.5-2.0cm. 4. Advice to parents of children with hypospadias Hypospadias is a common congenital urethral malformation in children, which can be cured by surgery, so early medical treatment should be sought, otherwise it will affect the development of the penis and urethra of the child. Parents should be prepared for the complications of surgery, and even if the surgery is successful, the appearance will not be comparable to the normal “original”. In addition, preoperative preparation, perineal cleanliness and postoperative urethral care play a very important role in the success of the surgery. Therefore, parents should work closely with the medical staff to ensure the success of the surgery. As the child grows up after surgery, regular follow-up visits to the hospital should be made to track urination and penile development.
