Zinc oxide ointment does not contain hormones. The main component of this ointment is zinc oxide, which has an astringent or protective effect on the skin, especially for exudative skin reactions, acute eczema and subacute eczema, with significant astringent and antipruritic effects, as well as protective effects on the skin and mucous membranes. Therefore, zinc oxide ointment is widely used in clinical practice, but has very limited therapeutic effect on long-term eczema or chronic eczema. For chronic proliferative dermatoses, such as neurodermatitis, the therapeutic effect is also limited, so zinc oxide ointment should not be used without indications as much as possible. If some patients develop superficial skin erosions and ulcers, zinc oxide ointment can also be used and can promote wound healing to some extent.
