The etiology of the development of leukemia is still unclear, it may be caused by biological, physical, chemical, genetic and other factors as well as other blood diseases that develop into leukemia.
1. Biological factors: viral infection and abnormal immune function may lead to leukemia. When a virus infects the body, as an endogenous pathogen combining with host cells, it can activate certain factors and induce leukemia.
2. Physical factors: the chance of leukemia is higher for those who work with radiation than for those who don’t, for example, X-rays and other ionizing radiation may be the cause of leukemia.
3. Chemical factors: for example, long-term exposure to benzene and organic solvents of benzene may cause leukemia.
4. Genetic factors: If there are leukemia patients in the immediate family, the incidence of leukemia in the next generation is higher than normal.
5. Evolution of other blood diseases: Multiple myeloma, lymphoma and other diseases may develop into leukemia if they continue to develop.
There may be other causes of sudden onset of leukemia, but the specific causes are not yet clear.
