Is it okay to have small nodules in your lungs?

Whether a small nodule in the lung is okay or not depends on the size and shape of the nodule. If the patient has a relatively small nodule with smooth margins, no clinical symptoms, and a nodule diameter <5mm, it is considered a benign nodule and requires no special treatment. If the patient's nodules are between 5-8 mm in diameter, regular clinical review is required, usually after three months, six months, or one year, to observe any dynamic changes. If the patient's nodules are >8mm in diameter, there is a possibility of malignancy and further improvement of relevant examinations, such as enhanced CT, tumor series, sputum for cancer cells, nodule puncture biopsy, or bronchoscopy is needed. If the patient is a malignant nodule, further treatment is needed, including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, target cell drug therapy, etc. Clinically, surgery is the main treatment.
