The tablets should be swallowed and not chewed or crushed. For patients with swallowing difficulties, the tablets can be dissolved in half a cup of carbonate-free water and stirred until the tablets disintegrate completely, taken immediately or within 30 minutes, and then rinsed with half a cup of water and taken.
