What type of IOL do I need?

IOLs are implanted in the eye during cataract surgery to replace the artificial lens removed due to clouding.

According to current clinical observations, IOLs are stable and can last for more than 70 years after implantation in the human eye and do not need to be replaced without special circumstances.

According to the function, there are four types of IOLs in clinical application: rigid IOL, foldable IOL, adjustable IOL and special IOL. Hard IOLs have been widely used, foldable IOLs are currently the mainstream, adjustable IOLs are undergoing more cutting-edge research and application, and special IOLs are highly individualized and targeted. Each IOL has its own characteristics and there are no absolute advantages or disadvantages, and they need to be jointly developed by the surgeon according to the actual situation of the patient.
