If the patient has a rapid heartbeat as soon as he/she is active, consider that the patient may have anemia, or hyperthyroidism. For patients with poor cardiac function and heart failure, they are also prone to have a rapid heartbeat after activity. Patients are advised to first rule out organic lesions, check serum ions, blood count and thyroid function. If the patient also has lower limb edema, or similar problems such as chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath, or dyspnea, further examination of BNP and cardiac ultrasound will help further clarify whether heart failure is currently present. It is recommended that if the patient has hyperthyroidism, he or she should take oral methimazole to help prevent the rapid heartbeat after activity. If heart failure is the cause, patients are advised to take oral metoprolol, hydrochlorothiazide tablets, spironolactone, etc.
