Pregnant women with yin deficiency and fire are often characterized by afternoon fever, hot hands and feet (irritability and sultriness), dry stools, night sweats (sweating abnormally after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), and dribbling and astringent pain in urination, among other symptoms.
Pregnant women may suffer from deficiency of yin and blood in their bodies, coupled with post-pregnancy injection of yin and blood to nourish the fetus, or addicted to spicy and stimulating diets, which depletes yin and blood, making yin and blood even more deficient, and the fire within the body burns the body fluid and can lead to frequent urination, dribbling and astringent pain, hot flashes in the afternoon, hot flushes in the hands and feet, dry zygomatic cheekbones and lips, night sweating, and dried and knotty stools, among other symptoms.
During pregnancy, women who experience symptoms related to yin deficiency and fire should consult a medical doctor in a timely manner and have their symptoms adjusted by a professional physician to avoid adverse consequences.
