Can you still get pembrolizumab with low platelets?

Pabolizumab infusion is not recommended when platelets are low. Pabolizumab is an anti-tumor drug that is used to treat melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, esophageal cancer and other diseases. The most common adverse reactions are fatigue, nausea, and diarrhea. The most serious adverse reactions are immune-related disorders such as immune-related pneumonia and severe infusion-related reactions, most of which resolve after discontinuation of the drug. The use of pembrolizumab alone or in combination with chemotherapy may cause anemia, thrombocytopenia, lymphopenia and other hematologic changes, therefore, infusion of pembrolizumab is not recommended when platelets are low. In addition, this drug is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment and allergy to the product.
