Probability of converting HPV16 positive to negative

HPV type 16 positivity is a high-risk HPV infection. This type of HPV infection, it can have a conversion rate of about 80%. This is because about 80% of patients are clinically infected with high-risk HPV in a transient manner, that is, after 8 months to 1 year, the high-risk HPV can be cleared from the body on its own due to the strong resistance of the body, so that it will turn negative. However, there are 20% of patients who will be persistently positive. Therefore, it is clinically recommended that patients found to have high-risk HPV infection should first undergo colposcopy, mainly to rule out the occurrence of epithelial lesions and cervical cancer. If no epithelial lesions are found after colposcopy and pathological tests, regular annual examinations are sufficient.
