There is no such thing as the two most feared acupoints for hypertension, and the commonly used acupuncture points are: Fengchi, Taichong, Baihui, Heping, Quchi, Sanyinjiao, etc., and the matching points can be chosen according to clinical diagnosis.
High pressure disease belongs to the categories of “vertigo” and “headache” in Chinese medicine, and its etiology is related to dietary disorders, emotional disorders, and internal injuries and deficiencies. The basic pathogenesis is hyperactivity of liver yang and insufficient kidney yin.
Treatment of hypertension is based on calming the liver and subduing yang (suppressing too much rising yang in the liver) and harmonizing qi and blood, and is often based on acupuncture points of the foot syncopal meridian and the foot shaoyang meridian, with commonly used acupuncture points such as fengchi, taichong, baihui, hegu, quchi and sanyinjiao, and other points are then matched according to the specific pattern of the disease.
For hypertension with hyperactivity of the liver, points such as Zhangmai and Ququan can be selected; for congestion of phlegm-dampness, points such as Fenglong and Zhongkou; for deficiency of yin and yang, points such as Guanyuan and Ren Yu; for deficiency of yin and hyperactivity of yang, Ren Yu and Liver Yu; for deficiency and stasis of the liver, points such as Samri-li and Diaphragm Yu can be selected.
Note that acupuncture treatment should be performed by a professional acupuncturist, not blindly on your own to avoid injury.
