There are many causes of clear sputum, firstly, it is considered to be caused by respiratory infectious diseases, such as viral infection, bacterial infection, mycoplasma, chlamydia, tuberculosis mycobacterium infection and so on.
If it is caused by respiratory infectious diseases, appropriate drugs can be selected according to different causes. Viral infections routinely do not require antiviral treatment, and antiviral drugs (such as oseltamivir, etc.) can be given if necessary; if bacterial infections are given antibiotic treatment (such as three-generation cephalosporin, etc.); if mycoplasma and chlamydia infections can be given macrolides (such as azithromycin, erythromycin, etc.); and if it is Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, anti-tuberculosis drugs (e.g. isoniazid, rifampicin, etc.) are needed for treatment.
Patients with clear sputum, especially when accompanied by other symptoms such as cough and low-grade fever, should consult a doctor in time, and the cause of the disease should be clarified through relevant examinations such as laryngoscopy, chest CT, bronchoscopy, and sputum culture, and then the cause of the disease should be identified for symptomatic treatment.
