Diet after pancreatic cancer surgery

Postoperative pancreatic cancer patients, especially those who have undergone pancreatic and duodenectomy, need a long time to adapt to the postoperative period due to the decrease of the exocrine function of the pancreas and the reconstruction of the digestive tract, which requires patients to gradually return to their preoperative eating habits within 1-3 months after surgery, mainly by semi-liquid diet with a small number of meals. The whole process should be slow rather than fast, as the postoperative recovery period requires a lot of energy to replenish physical strength and repair itself. Therefore, patients are advised to take foods with high protein and vitamins for the postoperative period, including eggs, meat, fish and shrimp, and other such foods. These ingredients include rich protein and are easily absorbed by the intestines, and attention should also be paid to eating less greasy food.
