Flatulence is uncomfortable, what to do about it

Flatulence and discomfort are commonly caused by dietary factors, functional gastrointestinal diseases, gastrointestinal obstruction, etc. General treatment, medication, surgery, etc. are needed according to the causes.
1. Dietary factors: Eating and drinking too fast can swallow too much gas, eating gas-producing food, sitting for a long time without exercising and accumulating gas, etc., all of which can cause the accumulation of swallowed gas and the uncomfortable feeling of flatulence. Therefore, it is necessary to chew slowly, eat easy-to-digest foods, and exercise moderately to facilitate digestion and exhaust.
2. Functional dyspepsia: There are typical symptoms of dyspepsia, such as belching, abdominal distension, aggravation after meals, nausea, heartburn, acid reflux and so on. Symptomatic treatment, avoiding smoking, alcohol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, postprandial bloating, early satiety can be taken orally to promote gastrointestinal dynamics of drugs such as domperidone, mosapride.
3. Gastrointestinal obstruction: the contents of the gastrointestinal tract cannot pass normally due to various reasons, and are retained in the stomach or intestines for the occurrence of abdominal distension and constipation, such as pyloric obstruction, intestinal obstruction, intestinal adhesion, and so on. Surgery is usually required to relieve the obstruction.
The above is only part of the causes of flatulence, flatulence also need to be combined with age, onset of urgency, past history and other comprehensive judgment, for example, children’s flatulence is often seen in malnutrition, dyspepsia; young adults flatulence is often seen in gastritis; the elderly are often seen in intractable constipation, gastrointestinal tumors and so on.
If the symptoms of flatulence are excluded from the dietary factors, it is recommended to consult the hospital in time. Blind self-medication should be avoided.
