Symptoms of luteal insufficiency

Luteinizing function can be understood as the ability of the corpus luteum to secrete progesterone, because the main role of progesterone is to transform the endometrium to prepare women for pregnancy, so when the luteinizing function is insufficient, it will lead to insufficient transformation of the endometrium, resulting in a series of clinical symptoms such as menstrual irregularities, anemia, infertility or miscarriage. 1. Irregular menstruation. The main symptoms are prolonged menstruation (up to 10 days or even longer), shortened menstrual cycle and increased frequency of menstruation due to prolonged menstruation, and in some cases, bleeding and lower abdominal pain during ovulation. 2. Anemia. Patients are prone to anemia due to the excessive amount of menstrual blood for a long period of time. Patients are weaker, often feel tired, weak, and have poor appetite for sleep. 3. Infertility. Due to insufficient luteal function, the corpus luteum does not shrink or degenerate on schedule or only partially degenerates, and it keeps secreting little progesterone, resulting in the endometrium not peeling off within the normal time, while the premenstrual endometrium still remains in the initial secretion stage, and so on, making it difficult for patients to conceive. 4.Miscarriage. Insufficient luteal function cannot secrete enough progesterone to maintain the normal growth and development of the embryo, which often leads to miscarriage or even habitual abortion. It is recommended that patients be admitted to the hospital in time to confirm the diagnosis.
