Can thoracoscopic surgery be performed for lung cancer?

Thoracoscopic surgery is called televised thoracoscopic surgery, in which 2-3 holes are made in the chest wall and a camera and various surgical instruments are inserted to project the inside of the chest cavity onto a television screen, where the surgeon operates on the television. Thoracoscopy is capable of performing standard radical lung cancer surgery. Currently, it is recognized that thoracoscopic surgery is appropriate for early-stage lung cancer with a mass under 125 px, but thoracoscopic surgery is now evolving so rapidly that many more complex procedures can be performed thoracoscopically, which is directly related to the experience and surgical skills of the surgeon. The benefits of thoracoscopic surgery include: 1. The patient’s postoperative pain is significantly reduced because there is no traditional surgical incision. 2.Significantly faster recovery from surgery, significantly lower complication rate and shorter hospital stay. 3.Since the muscles of the chest wall are not cut off, some lung function is preserved and postoperative adjuvant therapy is easily tolerated.
