Measles vaccine several times in a lifetime

Generally speaking, measles vaccination is required twice in a lifetime: the first time, when the child reaches the age of eight months after birth; and the second time, when the child reaches the age of seven years. The measles vaccination is very significant, as it is effective in preventing infection with the measles virus. The importance of measles vaccination is underscored by clinical data showing that children who are not vaccinated against measles have an incidence rate of more than 95% after exposure to the measles virus and can suffer many complications, such as pneumonia, encephalitis, heart failure, etc., which can be life-threatening in severe cases. For adults, if they have not been vaccinated against measles as children and have not been previously infected with the measles virus, they can receive a measles vaccination even as adults.
