Can lupus erythematosus be cured?

Currently, there is no cure for lupus erythematosus.
Lupus erythematosus is divided into systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SLE), in which cutaneous lupus erythematosus is usually limited to the skin, whereas SLE involves not only the skin, but also kidneys, heart, lungs and other organs, and SLE is more common in clinic. Both types of lupus erythematosus are incurable, but the condition can be controlled and the symptoms relieved through standardized treatment.
After treatment of cutaneous lupus erythematosus, skin damage such as butterfly-shaped erythema and papules can mostly subside, while the survival rate of SLE patients has been improved with the improvement of medical standards. 80% to 90% of SLE patients can survive for more than 10 years after timely and reasonable treatment.
SLE patients are advised to go to rheumatology and dermatology departments of regular hospitals for detailed consultation.
