What is the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease?

In Chinese medicine, coronary heart disease belongs to the category of chest paralysis and heart pain. According to Chinese medicine, the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease is “Yang Wei Yin String”, which means that the Yang Qi in the chest is insufficient and weak to push, resulting in blood stasis and phlegm congestion, blocking the heart veins. Nowadays, people are living at a faster pace, with irregular living and excessive fatigue, resulting in damage to the spleen and stomach and insufficient generation of middle qi. Qi deficiency and weakness in pushing make the blood flow obstructed and stay in the blood vessels as stagnant blood, stagnant blood and phlegm-dampness intertwine and block the heart vessels thus leading to the occurrence of coronary heart disease. Modern medical research found that the occurrence of coronary heart disease is closely related to the narrowing of the lumen caused by atherosclerosis of coronary arteries, and atherosclerosis is the pathological basis for the occurrence of coronary heart disease.
