How long does prostate cancer survival last?

For malignant tumors the survival period varies from person to person, but prostate cancer is a relatively low malignancy tumor, the survival period of patients is longer compared to other tumors, from the early proto-oncogene mutation in the prostate to the end of the patient’s life, some people can experience 10-20 years or even 20 years. Because there are many treatments for prostate cancer, early stage prostate cancer can be treated by endocrine therapy, and if it appears that endocrine therapy is not working well, called hormone resistant prostate cancer, it enters the second line of prostate cancer treatment. There are many drugs, including targeted drugs, chemotherapy drugs and immunotherapy drugs, that are very useful and effective in the treatment of prostate cancer. On average, if prostate cancer is detected early, the 5-year survival rate is very high with aggressive treatment. If the tumor is detected late, or if metastases such as bone metastases, lung metastases, or local metastases such as enlarged lymph nodes and local organ invasion occur, the survival period is shorter, even for very advanced prostate cancer, the survival period is only 6-12 months.
