What should I do if I have a cyst under my tongue?

The primary treatment option for a cyst under the tongue is to undergo surgery. There are generally two types of cysts under the tongue: one is a prelingual cyst and the other is a sublingual cyst, and in either case, the treatment is surgical removal. For the first type of anterior lingual cyst, which is usually located in the anterior part of the tongue, surgery is required to remove the cyst and the surrounding glandular vesicles as much as possible, but there is still a certain chance of recurrence after surgery. In the case of sublingual cysts, the cyst is usually removed together with the sublingual gland, and in this way the chance of recurrence of the cyst is significantly reduced.
