Can allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma be eradicated?

Patient: Li, 38 years old, female Li: 3 years ago, after home renovation, developed nasal itching, nasal congestion, clear water nasal discharge and sneezing. 2 years ago, she started to have itchy nose, nasal congestion, clear watery nose, sneezing and then pus nasal discharge and backflow to the mouth through the back of the nose, and suffocated wheezing at night, and was examined as allergic asthma at the local hospital, and the effect of treatment was still very poor. I hope that allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma can be eradicated by surgical methods. Examination: deviated nasal septum, bilateral inferior and middle turbinates edema, large amount of mucous secretion from middle nasal tract. Allergen test: positive for pollen and dust mite. Sinus CT: whole group of paranasal sinusitis. Lung function: abnormal. Blood count: eosinophilia. Answer: (for the doctor’s own opinion, for reference only) (1) The patient’s diagnosis is: 1. allergic rhinitis 2. allergic asthma 3. sinusitis. (2) Allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma are both allergic diseases. At present, both allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma cannot be eradicated worldwide, and are effectively controlled by medication. (3) Their effective treatment lies in the avoidance of allergens, for example, some people are allergic to shrimp, itching and red bumps all over the body. In China, allergic rhinitis exists geographically and does not require any medication. Migrating southward, about 1/3 of patients can be relieved naturally after crossing the Yellow River, and then crossing the Yangtze River, another 1/3 of patients can be relieved naturally. However, it does not mean that southerners do not suffer from allergic rhinitis because there is also the problem of individual constitution. (4) Allergen detection and desensitization through allergen testing is an effective treatment for patients with allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma. Unfortunately, not all patients with allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma are able to detect allergens. Therefore, allergic diseases cannot be excluded even if the allergen test is negative. (5) At present, for simple allergic rhinitis, there is no reliable basis to hope for “eradication” through surgery, laser, microwave and other treatments, but if sinusitis and nasal polyps are combined, surgery is needed. Effective treatment of allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps and allergic sinusitis can contribute to good control of allergic asthma. (6) In terms of treatment, each doctor has his own experience and experience.
