“Qi-prick” and “Yang-prick” method for neurological diseases

The “qi-acupuncture” and “yang-acupuncture” were first recorded in the “Nei Jing”, which is a “multi-acupuncture method” created by the ancients according to the different parts and nature of the disease. It is still one of the most common and effective acupuncture methods in acupuncture and moxibustion clinics, and has been newly developed. The Qi acupuncture method is derived from “Ling Shu? The “official acupuncture”: “Qi acupuncture, straight into one, the side into two, in order to treat the cold gas small deep, or said three acupuncture, three acupuncture, treatment of paralysis small deep also.” This stabbing method is the opposite of the resumption of stabbing, resumption of stabbing for a point multiple stabbing, or multi-way stabbing; Qi stabbing for three needle collection, so also known as three stabbing. “It is also suitable for the treatment of pain and spasm caused by neurological diseases, such as migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, temporomandibular joint disorder, and paralysis and pain of peripheral nerve diseases. The Yang prick method is derived from “Ling Shu? The “Yang prick” is used to treat the cold Qi. The “Yang acupuncture” method is suitable for the disease where the lesion is shallow but large in scope. The circumferential acupuncture method is similar and slightly different, it is a multi-needle to the center of the lesion, like the siege of the enemy acupuncture method. At present, the Yang prick method is commonly used to treat diseases such as lateral femoral dermatomal neuritis, epiglottic neuralgia, and postherpetic neuralgia. Qi prick and Yang prick are widely used in the clinical treatment of neurological diseases, and we have observed the treatment regarding migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, postherpetic neuralgia, and lateral femoral dermatomal neuritis. For pain, TCM believes that the root cause of pain is the blockage of qi and blood in the internal organs and meridians of the human body, therefore, the treatment should unblock the meridians and harmonize the internal organs to achieve qi and blood flow to stop the pain. Migraine belongs to the category of “head wind” in Chinese medicine, which is caused by the invasion of wind, fire, phlegm, saliva, wind and cold, or irritation and tension, or liver and yang, resulting in the blockage of meridians, deregulation of yin and yang, and disorder of qi and blood in the head. The main manifestation of the disease is severe headache that comes and goes suddenly, either left or right. In this case, the pain is treated by taking the acupuncture point Ah Yes and using the Qi stabbing method to relieve migraine headache, so as to unblock the meridians, move Qi and relieve pain. Trigeminal neuralgia refers to episodic transient severe pain in the distribution area of the trigeminal nerve of the face, also known as painful twitching. Modern medicine divides trigeminal neuralgia into two categories: primary and secondary. The former is the presence of clinical symptoms, but the examination does not reveal any obvious organic or functional lesions related to the onset of the disease. Pain site: trigeminal nerve 2 and 3 branches distribution area is common, cheek, upper and lower jaw and tongue are the most obvious, unilateral is common, with trigger point. The treatment is based on local lesions, and the trigger points are stabbed together to increase the area of needling and the induction of qi, to strengthen the stimulation and enhance the sensation of needling, so as to strengthen the role of meridians in regulating qi and blood and improve the therapeutic effect. It is especially suitable for patients with insensitive meridians, poor needle sensation and long duration of illness. Note that if the trigger point cannot be touched, choose the adjacent point to take the point and a slightly slow and gradual way. Second, Yang prick Postherpetic neuralgia is one of the most common and disabling complications of herpes zoster, mostly referring to chronic pain that lasts more than 90 days after the repair of the local lesion of herpes zoster. This disease is mostly caused by emotional disorders, liver qi stagnation, which turns into fire; or poor diet, lack of spleen health, dampness and heat, dampness and heat, and external poisonous evil, so that dampness and heat and fire poison accumulate in the skin. In old and frail people, the pain is often severe due to blood deficiency, liver exuberance, damp-heat toxicity and Qi-blood stagnation. The initial stage is damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder (herpes zoster), and the later stage is stagnation of Qi and blood and blockage of damp-heat (post-herpetic neuralgia). Treatment is to clear heat and detoxify toxins in the early stage and to activate blood circulation and remove stasis in the later stage. The acupuncture points are taken at the site of the lesion using the Yang prick method of treatment to clear the heat and detoxify the toxin and invigorate the blood to relieve pain. The plum blossom needle is an extension and promotion of the Yang prick and peri-prick, and has a history of one thousand years. Because of the shallow pricking, the so-called “pricking skin does not hurt the flesh”, also known as skin needles. The plum blossom needle is an important step in the treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia, which is characterized by a painless, minimally invasive, stabbing and releasing blood on the patient’s skin surface, unblocking the skin meridians, opening and detoxifying the body, and relieving inflammation and pain. Lateral femoral dermatome neuritis, also known as abnormal sensory femoral pain, is characterized by abnormal sensations such as ankylosis, numbness or pain in the skin of one or both lateral thighs, which is aggravated when standing or walking. Clinically, it is generally caused by wind-damp paralysis and cold clotting of blood stasis. We used the Yang stab method to extract the acupuncture point, strong stimulation technique, followed by the plum blossom needle buckle stab, and achieved more satisfactory results. Qi acupuncture, Yang acupuncture is also used for acupuncture points, such as: frozen shoulder to take the shoulder three needles, lumbago to take the vital gate two kidney Yu, insomnia and anxiety to take the Baihui four Shencong, etc., because the number of needles in the diseased area with the same use, strengthening the local scope of acupuncture and the amount of acupuncture stimulation, so that the acupuncture induction directly to the disease, and therefore can be more effective in stimulating the meridian, invigorate Yang Qi, play the role of Shu meridians, promote the flow of Qi and blood, remove blood stasis, eliminate swelling, dispel cold and relieve pain, and so on. This accelerates the repair of damaged tissues and promotes the healing of diseases. The inheritance and development of traditional acupuncture is the responsibility and task of our generation, further inheritance and carry forward for it is a long way to go.
