1.Conventional open surgery for varicose veins
Post-operative diet
After the varicose vein surgery, we should observe whether the patient has nausea, vomiting and other uncomfortable symptoms within 6 hours, if not, we can eat liquid food or semi-liquid food, after that, we can eat normally, we should pay attention to diversification and nutrition in food selection, and let the patient take in vitamins and trace elements as much as possible to ensure water intake to speed up the wound healing.
Postoperative observation of urine
If you are still unable to defecate, please contact the bedside physician or the physician on duty in time.
Postoperative bed rest and activities
After returning to the hospital bed after surgery, you should lie down with pillows under the operated lower limb and elevate the affected limb by 20-30 cm to enhance venous reflux, reduce the swelling of the affected limb and form a barrier to prevent deep vein thrombosis.
From the second day after surgery, the patient should walk in bed every day to prevent the formation of deep vein thrombosis.
Precautions for postoperative dressing and wound dressing change
It is normal for open surgery patients to have mild swelling of the affected limb due to bandages. If you feel that the swelling is abnormal and uncomfortable, please contact the bedside physician or the physician on duty in time, and do not remove the bandages or loosen the bandages by yourself to avoid hemorrhage from the incision of the affected limb.
After surgery, the medication will be changed once every 2-3 days according to the condition of the limb incision, and the stitches will be removed 12-14 days after surgery. If the incision is red, swollen, painful, etc. and gradually worsens, the incision should be alerted to infection. After the stitches are removed, it is recommended to wear medical elastic stockings for a long time, and to stop using them at night. Avoid prolonged sitting and standing and heavy physical activities, and actively treat constipation and chronic cough.
Some patients may experience mild edema and pain in the calf or foot of the affected limb after surgery. It is recommended that in addition to the use of elastic stockings, oral venous active drugs to reduce venous edema, such as Mizarin and Aviron, should be taken orally and gradually discontinued after the symptoms are relieved.
2.Laser/sclerotherapy minimally invasive cosmetic surgery
General matters such as diet
Patients receiving hemi-anesthesia need to cooperate with lower limb air pump pressure therapy immediately after surgery. Other precautions for diet, bowel movement and bed rest are the same as those for open surgery.
Time of application of postoperative compression stockings
Regardless of receiving anesthesia or not, at the end of treatment, the affected limb should be immediately put on level 2 medical elastic stockings for 24 hours without interruption for about 7 days (do not loosen them by yourself, please contact the physician for treatment if there is any discomfort), and then review them on an outpatient basis, and after 7 days, change to wearing them during the day and taking them off at night, and adhere to them for a minimum of three months, in order to prevent recurrence, except for the hot summer, being able to adhere to wearing them for a long time can effectively prevent recurrence.
Capillary dilatation (spider web) patients receiving sclerotherapy should immediately put on the affected limb with level 2 medical elastic stockings for 24 hours without interruption for 3 days (do not loosen it by yourself, please contact your physician to deal with any discomfort), and then change to daytime wear and nighttime take off after 7 days, adhere to a minimum of 1 month.
Precautions for patients not receiving hemianesthesia
For patients receiving sclerotherapy alone and not receiving anesthesia, walk rapidly for 20-30 minutes in the area of the visit quickly after treatment to prevent deep vein thrombosis in the lower extremities.
Management of common adverse reactions
If yellowish brown pigmentation occurs in the area treated with sclerotherapy, it is a normal reaction.
If the sclerotherapy area, if there are hard nodules, if there is no sense of fluctuation, usually 3-5 months later can disappear on their own, but also local wet application of 25-50% magnesium sulfate solution to promote the receding, to relieve symptoms; if there is a sense of fluctuation, please contact with the physician for timely treatment.
