Urology takes minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for prostate cancer to a new level

May 18 was a special day for Mr. Xie, who had prostate cancer. Dr. Hu Xiaoyong, deputy chief of the Department of Urology, and Dr. Song Lujie, attending physician, successfully performed a 3Troca laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with an external peritoneal approach. The procedure went very smoothly, taking less than 100 minutes and bleeding less than 90 ml. It is especially worth mentioning that Mr. Xie had just undergone a Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) 6 weeks ago in his hometown in Henan Province, which makes laparoscopic surgery significantly more difficult. The procedure will be significantly more difficult to perform laparoscopically. Laparoscopic radical prostate cancer treatment has the advantages of less trauma, faster recovery and fewer post-operative complications, and is increasingly becoming the first choice for the treatment of limited prostate cancer. In recent years, under the leadership and support of Professor Qiang Fu, the head of the department, laparoscopic surgery in urology has developed significantly and has successfully performed complex surgeries such as radical prostate cancer treatment, total cystectomy, radical kidney cancer treatment, partial nephrectomy and lymphatic vessel ligation of the kidney tip. The laparoscopic radical surgery of prostate cancer by the external peritoneal route is the most complicated surgery in urology, which usually requires 5 or 4 Troca to complete successfully, but this time our urological specialists have cooperated sincerely and strived for excellence to complete the surgery successfully with only 3 Troca, which shows that our urological laparoscopic surgery has become more and more sophisticated and has gradually been in line with the domestic and international advanced laparoscopic technology.
