Surgical treatment of ankle cysts requires hospitalization, as it allows for perfect examination, clear diagnosis, and safer anesthesia, which can be taken as an epidural. During the surgical operation, the ankle joint may be involved, and ankle surgery requires very high aseptic conditions, as well as appropriate drug changes and treatment to prevent infection after surgery. After anesthesia the patient has no sensation and motor ability in the lower limbs, and not being hospitalized can easily lead to accidents. Therefore, taking the above into consideration, inpatient treatment of ankle cysts is safe and standardized, which is beneficial to the patient’s treatment results and the prevention of various complications. Therefore, it is recommended that patients who have ankle cysts for surgical treatment must be hospitalized, which is better for the patients themselves and the cost may be slightly higher.
