Membrane-glass nodules are more likely to be lung cancer

About 30% of ground glass nodules should be considered as possible lung cancer, especially if the ground glass nodules present soft tissue masses with irregular shape and short burrs around, we should be more careful about the possibility of lung cancer, and further pathological examination or puncture biopsy should be done to determine whether it is lung cancer or cancer cells can be found under microscope after direct surgical excision. Glassy nodules can also be tuberculosis, fungal infection or bacterial pneumonia. Different diseases have different imaging characteristics. If the ground glass nodules are caused by pneumonia, they will disappear quickly after anti-infection treatment, while the ground glass nodules caused by tuberculosis mostly occur in the dorsal segment of both upper or lower lungs, accompanied by fever and night sweats, and anti-tuberculosis treatment is effective.
