Do lung nodule foci need treatment?

The need for treatment of pulmonary nodule foci depends on the shape and size of the nodule foci. If the nodule foci are smaller than 8 mm, treatment is usually not needed, as long as regular observation is performed. If the nodule foci increase in size or change in density, or if lobar, vascular or vacuolar signs appear during follow-up, further investigation and diagnosis should be made to exclude malignant lung tumors. If the nodule foci in the lung are larger than 8mm, and the morphology is not good, with lobar, vascular and vacuolar signs, etc., malignant tumors in the lung cannot be excluded either. The most likely cause of nodular foci in the lung is lung infection, which can be reviewed after two weeks of anti-infection, and if there is no change, it should be reviewed regularly. If the above mentioned signs of malignancy are found during the review process, it is important to further investigate and confirm the diagnosis and provide early treatment.
