A swollen eyelid is a condition that is most often due to two causes: first, local inflammation of the eyelid, including chalazion and mydriasis. Chalazion is a sterile inflammatory disease and can be given local heat in the early stages to promote self-absorption of the mass, or surgical removal can be considered if long-term self-absorption is not possible. Chalazion is a local infectious disease, early manifestation of local redness, swelling, heat and pain, in this stage need to give anti-infection symptomatic treatment. After an abscess has formed, surgical excision and drainage are considered to avoid further spread of infection. The second type of disease is eyelid tumor disease, for which early surgical treatment is recommended once the disease is diagnosed. The surgical procedure depends on the nature of the tumor. If the tumor is benign, simple excision is sufficient; if it is malignant, postoperative radiotherapy is usually required.
