Double eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is divided into the buried liner method, the three-dot method and the incision method. Although the recovery process is basically similar for all three methods, their recovery time needs to be determined on a case-by-case basis. For example, for buried eyelid or three-dot eyelid, no sutures are required and therefore no removal is needed; if sutures are present, they need to be removed in about 1 week, and recovery usually takes about 1-2 weeks. The routine recovery process is as follows: the first 3 days after surgery is the swelling period, after 3 days the swelling starts to subside, and 80% of the swelling can subside in about 1 week. On the second day of surgery, routine wound cleaning, i.e. wound dressing change, is required. After the dressing change, the wound needs to be kept dry to prevent infection. Antibiotic ointment, such as erythromycin ointment, can be applied daily, and the stitches can be removed on the 7th day.
