How long does it take for somatization disorder to heal

The healing time of somatization disorder is mainly influenced by the severity of the disease and the effectiveness of the treatment. Recovery usually takes weeks to months, and in severe cases it may take years, or even longer. Somatization disorder is a neurological disorder characterized by persistent worry, or belief in the predominance of various somatic symptoms, without obvious organic disease, and negative for all medical tests. Some patients have some kind of somatic disorder, but its severity is not sufficient to explain the patient’s distress and anxiety. Because the symptoms of somatization are not caused by somatic diseases but by psychiatric factors, treatment is not focused on treating somatic symptoms, but rather on anxiety, depression, fear, and even psychotic symptoms. As the psychiatric symptoms improve, the somatic symptoms will also be relieved or even disappear, but the time may be delayed, depending on the condition.
