Can nausea and vomiting in advanced lung adenocarcinoma still be treated with chemotherapy?

Lung adenocarcinoma patients with nausea and vomiting in the late stage can be given antiemetic and nutritional supportive treatment. If the symptoms are relieved and the indexes meet the standard of chemotherapy, some patients can continue to undergo chemotherapy. 1. Drug anti-emetic treatment: metoclopramide hydrochloride and strychnine can be given as anti-emetic treatment, which should be applied under the guidance of physicians. 2. Nutritional supportive treatment: Diet should be based on light, easy-to-digest food, such as rice soup, fish soup, soft noodles and so on. Attention should also be paid to eating high-quality protein foods as well as fresh vegetables and fruits, such as milk, soy products, apples, bananas and so on. If the symptoms of nausea and vomiting are heavy, intravenous nutritional support therapy can be given. If nausea and vomiting of some patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma are relieved after the above treatments, systemic chemotherapy can be continued under doctor’s guidance to inhibit the growth of cancer cells, relieve the symptoms and control the condition. If nausea and vomiting are caused by intestinal obstruction, further treatment of intestinal obstruction is needed and chemotherapy cannot be continued for the time being. Nausea and vomiting in patients with advanced stage of lung adenocarcinoma are recommended to consult doctor for individualized treatment under doctor’s guidance, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
