Fixed drug rash is one of the common factors causing penile ulcers. There are many drugs that can cause fixed drug rash, the common ones being sulphonamides, antipyretics, tetracyclines and hypnotic sedatives in that order. Of these, compounded sulphamethoxazole, long-acting sulphonamides and sulphathiazoles, and barbiturates are relatively common.
