When the nail bed is damaged and one half of it is empty, if it is a simple tear, local debridement and disinfection treatment is needed; if the nail bed is defective, attention needs to be paid to debridement surgery to avoid infection; it is also necessary to determine whether it is fungal infection caused by onychomycosis, and whether it is necessary to prevent tetanus. Drugs should be applied under the guidance of the doctor.
1. Damage to the nail bed is mostly due to extrusion injuries, if it is just a simple tear and no defect, first use hydrogen peroxide and saline for local debridement, then disinfect with iodine vapour or alcohol, change the medication regularly, and wait for the nails to grow out gradually.
2. In case of serious injury, the broken nail should be pulled out, and mupirocin ointment should be applied topically to prevent infection, and finally wrapped with sterile gauze and changed once every 1-2 days until the wound is completely healed.
3. If the nail fungus is caused by fungal infection, the sick nail will be thickened, and then topical ketoconazole ointment and other drugs for antifungal treatment.
If the nail bed is damaged due to trauma, tetanus antitoxin injection should be required within 24 hours. For pain after the injury can take ibuprofen, diclofenac sodium and other drugs to relieve pain treatment, in order to prevent infection, can also take amoxicillin, cefaclor and other antibiotics.
Damage to the nail bed that is not treated in a timely manner is susceptible to infection, which can interfere with the production of normal tissue and lead to nail scars, unevenness and other phenomena in the new nail.
