What is the choking sensation when swallowing food?

Choking sensation when swallowing food is usually caused by the following diseases: 1. Esophageal cancer: usually seen for dysphagia, initially as choking sensation when swallowing dry, solid food, and as the disease progresses, choking sensation when swallowing liquid. Esophageal cancer is a common disease and needs to be diagnosed by gastroscopy; 2. Idiopathic inflammatory disease: usually skeletal muscle inflammation, when the upper esophageal muscles and pharyngeal muscles are involved, dysphagia or choking sensation can occur. When the above symptoms appear, gastroscopy is needed to determine whether there is esophageal cancer, and if not, to determine whether there are muscular lesions in the esophagus and pharynx, and rheumatological and immunological related examinations are needed to determine whether there are idiopathic inflammatory diseases.
