It can cause swollen feet, and symptoms of foot swelling are common in kidney-related diseases such as acute and chronic glomerulonephritis and nephrotic syndrome. The oedema usually occurs first on the eyelids or face, and later it rapidly progresses from top to bottom to oedema all over the body, including the feet, and is often accompanied by symptoms such as haematuria, proteinuria and increased blood pressure. It is relatively easy to diagnose but more difficult to treat.
