Gout almost a month and still vague pain, may not follow the doctor’s instructions to take medication, poor drug effectiveness or not avoiding food caused by the delay in the condition of the cause, but in the process of lowering uric acid treatment may also occur in the second attack of gout, and there may be gout into the chronic phase. During an acute attack of gout, if the patient does not follow the doctor’s instructions to take the full amount of timely non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen, celecoxib) and colchicine and other anti-inflammatory pain relieving drugs, resulting in persistent pain. Failure to strictly avoid eating animal offal, seafood and other high-purine foods or drinking alcohol will lead to fluctuations in uric acid levels in the patient’s body and prolonged duration of inflammation. After the acute symptoms of gout are controlled, there is still a need to actively control uric acid levels through oral medications and dietary control over the long term. Uric acid lowering in remission leads to redistribution of uric acid crystals in the body due to fluctuation of uric acid and reoccurrence of joint pain. If the gout is not well managed, it can progress to the chronic phase of gout, with prolonged duration of joint symptoms, which is mostly indicative of the severity of the patient’s condition. It is recommended that gout patients who still have vague pain for almost a month go to the rheumatology and immunology department of a regular hospital for detailed consultation and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
